PSSA: Positive industry outlook for the next year Print E-mail
Tuesday, 29 May 2012 12:12

Counter Terror Expo was a huge success for both the organisers and the Perimeter Security Suppliers Association (PSSA) this year. While the organisers saw a record attendance with a 10% increase on last year, the PSSA are enjoying a 2 5% increase rate in membership, and from the large number of contacts made at the show a resounding 100% endorsement for the PSSA’s Verification Scheme and general direction and pace of the association’s travel.

As the Verification Scheme starts now to become adopted, work continues apace to extend the Scheme to cover both High Security Fencing, and Installation work. Both areas are just as crucial to the success of any high security perimeter as the quality of the product. A number of the PSSA’s directors and members have been busy organising and chairing end-user and industry forums in order to provide direction for the both scheme’s development.

While the need for such a Scheme was never in doubt, what has surprised is the number of issues the industry is grappling with. For High Security Fencing especially there is huge (and growing) confusion around the selection, applicability, and qualification of standards across the industry and the PSSA scheme will try and address these issues. PPSA has also announced the results of the "State of the Market Spring Survey 2012", showing the results to some of the questions posed, that provide a snapshot of the industry at present. []
